"Sugar Free"

Meili said the funniest thing the other day and I wanted to share it with you all.

Meili: "Mom, can I have a cracker-It's sugar-free! (in her most convincing voice).
Mom: "Where did you hear sugar free?"
Meili: "Mom does it have too much salt??? Who really cares about all that stuff anyways?" (again using her most convincing voice).

Then a few days later while doing a workout video with me.
Meili: "Mom, why do you exercise?"
Mom: "To be healthy and burn my extra calories"
Meili: (pushing her tummy as far out as she can) says "look at all my extra calories" (then looking back at my tummy with the most serious face) she says "Mommy, you have too many extra calories".
Mom: "Grrrr"

Henry Doorly Zoo

Day at the Zoo00oo

Lazy Days

I can't believe summer is almost over! The weather here in Nebraska is crazy. A couple of days ago, there was a severe thunderstorm system that hit Omaha. The sky was practically constantly lit up with lightning. While fun to look at, the lightning must have hit close enough to our apartment to fry our wireless modem. We just got a replacement and it is supposed to be more resistant to that sort of thing. Next time a storm comes by, I'll be sure to unplug the modem.

Durham Museum

OUR VISIT TO THE DURHAM MUSEUM!!

This Museum is great if you love trains (Noah sure does) and they have a wonderful exhibit about Omaha's Heritage, and of course the temporary exhibit which as of right now is the Amazon voyage-vicious fish.
They have this sing-a-long song about the Candiru fish and it's a funny, but informative song-lets just say we won't be peeing in the water if we go to the Amazon. Then they have this fish dance where as you can see in the pictures above- you have these fish tails and other fish parts that you can velcro to yourself and do the fish dance. After feeling ridiculous for a minute it's actually a lot of fun.
Then before we leave we grab some old fashioned candy-the kids love it...okay Mom and Dad does too.
Meili loves the fish exhibit, and Noah loves the trains, Brandon loves the Heritage part and I love that we are able to get out of the house and do something together as a family!!!

Summer has been going by too quickly. When we're too poor to go out and too bored to stay inside, we go out for a dip in our pool (0ne of the amenities at our apartment complex-actual size shown). The kids think it's great, but if mom or dad tried to enter the pool, there'd be no water left.

Yeah. We're still here.

Hello everyone,

We finally put in some serious leg work getting this blog running. We hope you enjoy seeing the slide show and the playlist. We'll add more neat stuff when we find the time.
