I am really enjoying my faux moby wrap. I was considering buying the original
Moby Wrap, but after doing some research I realized that it's nothing more than a long piece of material.
I went to Hancock Fabrics and bought 4 yards of interlock cotton fabric. If you are interested in making your own and are bigger than me (chest, hips) I would suggest 5 yards because I pretty much use up every inch.
Then all you do is measure 3o inches for the width, and cut straight down to the bottom, and voila you have the
moby wrap.
What is neat about it is, there is no sewing involved. However, you can sew a button or some cute thing on the middle to help mark center so you don't have to fold it in half each time you put it on. This type of material rolls up along the edges and doesn't fray (this is also how you know you got the right material).
Then you go on
youtube or
moby wrap website and it gives easy to follow instruction on how to wear the wrap.
http://www.mobywrap.com/I have spent a lot of money on different baby carriers/wrap/slings and I have always had trouble with back problems or the straps digging into my shoulders. However, this wrap is pain free and the weight is
distributed equally all over. when I wear it it
kindof makes me feel pregnant again (the good parts) Ian is held really close to my body, he doesn't flop all over when I move around, and He loves it as much as I do-which is fantastic!
Here are some pictures of Ian in the wrap (we just got home from walking Noah to school).
